Ralph Venning
This book is an 'easier-to-read' version of The Plague of Plagues: a treatise on sin by the Puritan Ralph Venning. His book, first published in 1669, was written in the aftermath of the Great Plague of London. This modern adaptation, prepared by John Appleby and Peter King, brings Venning's message to a modern generation which has a casual view of sin. This book is a call to take sin seriously, and an invitation to find the remedy in Jesus Christ. Ralph Venning (1621-74) served as lecturer in St Olave's, Southwark, until the Great Ejection in 1662. An outstanding preacher, he was author of several books of which this is the best known.
